Political participation

On the basis of the international conventions that ensure women’s right to political participation, a single Palestinian study focuses on women’s weak political participation. The initiative calls for establishing the quota system as a legislative strategy to ensure equity for women, bolster their participation in national and local councils, and make it more effective in decision-making and policy design. The initiative is based on a number of references calling for changing electoral codes and introducing positive discrimination for the advantage of women.
